UrbanElevate, an initiative aimed at supporting projects in the field of urban mobility, has announced a call for applications for an accelerator programme for startups and a series of trainings for the “knowledge triangle ”*. UrbanElevate is supported by EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union.
*The “knowledge triangle” stimulates productive interaction between the educational, scientific and business sectors and municipal authorities.
Within the framework of UrbanElevate, two programmes will be held for different target audiences, with the aim of:
- Helping startups/innovators commercialize their projects in the field of urban mobility,
- Providing researchers, students, industry professionals, and city representatives with opportunities to innovate in the field of sustainable, data-driven, and inclusive mobility by enhancing their entrepreneurial and innovation skills.
During the first programme, 15 startups will receive individual mentoring, development of an individual commercialization roadmap, matchmaking, access to a network of European partners, and assistance in preparing a startup application to EIT Urban Mobility – Impact Ventures. The acceleration programme is open to startups (researchers and students) with ready-made projects or ideas in the field of urban mobility.
During the second programme, a series of educational trainings will be held for researchers, students, industry professionals, and city representatives. Their goal is to help implement innovations in sustainable, digital and inclusive urban mobility. The programme also includes a series of outreach events to draw attention to existing urban mobility needs and promote solutions.
