📅 On 27 February, the State University of Zhytomyr Polytechnic hosted the kick-off meeting of the UrbanElevate project, supported by EIT Urban Mobility, aimed at improving urban mobility in Zhytomyr and the region by engaging young people, innovators, researchers, business representatives and local government.
During the event:
☑️ Presented planned activities, prospects and future plans for key stakeholders and project partners;
☑️ Signed 15 memorandums of cooperation between Vacuum Deep Tech Acceleration and educational institutions in Zhytomyr, as well as between the State University of Zhytomyr Polytechnic, the Space for Women and Girls “Vilna”, and the City Development Agency of the Zhytomyr City Council.
📚 UrbanElevate includes several trainings for local governments, researchers, students and industry representatives, an acceleration programme for start-ups and innovators in the field of urban mobility, youth entrepreneurship and cooperation with European partners, namely two programmes for students aged 12-17:
🔸 Training programme in partnership with the European initiative Girls Go Circular – Training programme in partnership with the European initiative GGS for Zhytomyr schoolchildren. Girls Go Circular is aimed at developing STEM skills in girls and engaging them in the digital economy.
🔸 A one-day quest to assess the inclusiveness of urban space – students will explore the city and make recommendations for its improvement.
📢 The event discussed innovations in urban mobility, cooperation with European partners, and the involvement of young people in urban space change.
